Queensland court recording and transcription company Record Holdings has announced a multi-million-export contract in Massachusetts, as Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk wraps up her trade mission in the USA.

Record Holdings, which provides court recording and transcription services in Australia through its wholly owned subsidiary Auscript Australasia, revealed its exclusive For The Record (FTR) technology has been selected as the digital court recording solution for the Massachusetts Trial Court in the USA.

It is the same technology used by Auscript in its services to the Queensland, Federal and Family Courts.  It will be delivered in the USA by Auscript’s Brisbane-based sister company, For The Record Ltd (FTR).

In Queensland alone, FTR’s Falcon technology has enabled Auscript to improve the average transcript delivery time by 65 per cent and cut the average cost of transcripts to the State by 45 per cent since being awarded the Queensland Courts contract in 2013.

FTR will roll out the world-leading technology in 450 courtrooms, across 100 courthouses in Massachusetts.

FTR’s core recording technology is utilised in more than half of the world’s digitised courtrooms – including over 90 per cent of Australia’s courts and parliaments – and the Falcon range was introduced in 2013 as a productivity-focused expansion featuring recording and transcript production workflow management and online court recording streaming.

Auscript and FTR CEO and Managing Director Peter Wyatt said FTR’s Massachusetts contract win was a proud moment for the company, but that it should be an even prouder moment for the State of Queensland.

“It’s fitting that the Premier, in her first trade mission, is visiting an area of the world where they are now implementing technology that validates Queensland’s emerging position on the world stage as a location of choice for start-ups and established tech companies seeking to innovate,” Mr Wyatt said.

“With more and more jurisdictions around the globe looking to replicate Auscript and FTR’s processes and software, we are proud to be putting Queensland at the forefront of global technology.”
